Moscow has expressed strong opposition to the idea of European troops being deployed in Ukraine.
On Wednesday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Russia sees NATO countries’ military presence in Ukraine as one of the original reasons for the conflict that began in February 2022.
“We view such discussions negatively,” Peskov told reporters, commenting on the possibility of a European peacekeeping force as part of any potential deal to end the war.
