Motorists across the UAE are waiting for the announcement of next month’s petrol and diesel prices, which the Fuel Price Committee is expected to release in the coming days.

The monthly update, usually issued on the last day of each month, sets pump prices at fuel stations nationwide. For many residents, these changes are closely watched, as they help plan household budgets and travel costs.

In August, prices showed only small shifts compared to July:

Super 98: Dh2.69 per litre (down from Dh2.70)

Special 95: Dh2.57 per litre (slightly lower than Dh2.58)

E-Plus: Dh2.50 per litre (down from Dh2.51)

Diesel: Dh2.78 per litre (up from Dh2.63)

Fuel rates in the UAE are linked to global oil prices, which have been moving higher in recent days. Brent crude, the international benchmark, climbed to its highest level in nearly three weeks, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) briefly crossed $64 per barrel.

The increase followed signals from the US Federal Reserve that an interest rate cut could come as early as September — a move that often boosts economic activity and demand for fuel.

Still, some experts remain cautious. Edward Bell, head of research at Emirates NBD, said while lower rates may support demand in the short term, concerns about slowing global growth could weigh on oil markets in the longer run.
