A young Saudi father sprang into action at Abha International Airport when an amusement ride suddenly stopped during a power outage, leaving his children stranded mid-air.
Video clips shared widely on social media show the father climbing onto the ride to reach his children, who were visibly shaken after the lights went out and the ride came to a halt. His quick response brought relief to onlookers, and authorities later confirmed that no one was injured.
Officials are now investigating the cause of the outage and say they will introduce measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
This scare comes just weeks after a more serious amusement park accident in Taif, where a ride collapsed in the Al Hada district. That incident left 23 people injured, three of them critically, and sparked calls for stricter safety checks. Emergency teams, including civil defense and Saudi Red Crescent paramedics, quickly secured the area and rushed the injured to nearby hospitals.
