Qatar Goodwood Festival 2025 Closes with Thrilling Races and Cultural Showcases

The 2025 Qatar Goodwood Festival, presented by Visit Qatar, wrapped up its week-long celebrations with thrilling horse races, cultural showcases, and strategic engagement, highlighting Qatar’s commitment to global sports excellence and its close ties with the United Kingdom.
One of the festival’s most anticipated moments was the Qatar International Stakes (Group 1) for Purebred Arabian horses, held on July 30. The horse Al Ghadeer claimed an impressive victory, cheered on by attendees, including HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and head of Doha’s bid for the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The trophies were presented by HE Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Visit Qatar, alongside Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar.
On July 31, the spotlight turned to the Qatar Nassau Stakes (Group 1), a fiercely competitive race covering a mile and two furlongs with 22 elite horses. The filly Warm Heart emerged victorious, with the trophy presented by Eng. Abdulaziz Al Mawlawi, joined by Ali Turki Al Subaie, representing the Education Above All Foundation.
Throughout the week, Visit Qatar showcased its exclusive naming rights across five major races, emphasizing Qatar’s rich equestrian heritage and promoting the country as a top global destination. Highlights included the King George Qatar Stakes and the festival finale, the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes, which brought the week to a fitting close.
As the curtain falls on this year’s event, Qatar’s presence at Goodwood leaves a lasting impression, reflecting the nation’s integrated approach to sports, culture, and international cooperation.
