Etihad Rail Passenger Train to Transform Travel Across UAE
The UAE is preparing to change the way people travel across the country with the upcoming Etihad Rail passenger service. During a journey from Dubai to Fujairah, officials reviewed a key stage of this national project, which will eventually connect 11 cities and regions, stretching from Al Sila in the west to Fujairah in the east.
The modern trains will reach speeds of up to 200 km/h, making travel faster and more convenient. Once fully operational, the service is expected to carry 36 million passengers annually by 2030. Commercial operations are set to begin next year.
Led by Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed, the Etihad Rail team is driving a project that reflects the UAE’s commitment to innovation and future-ready infrastructure. This ambitious network highlights the country’s determination to provide world-class services and continue building a bright future.
