Qatar’s Emir Welcomes GCC Foreign Ministers

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, received the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states today at Lusail Palace. The meeting came during their visit to Qatar to attend the 49th extraordinary session of the GCC Ministerial Council, held in Doha to discuss the recent Iranian missile strike targeting Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
During the meeting, Sheikh Tamim expressed his deep appreciation to the leaders of the GCC for their strong support and solidarity with Qatar. He firmly condemned the Iranian attack, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the UN Charter. The Emir also wished the ministers success in their deliberations, hoping the outcome would contribute to regional peace and stability.
Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Emir. He reaffirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Qatar, strongly condemning the Iranian strike as a clear breach of Qatari sovereignty and a dangerous escalation in the region.
In return, Sheikh Tamim conveyed his gratitude and warm regards to Bahrain’s leadership, praising the strong and historic ties between the two nations. He emphasized that Bahrain’s support reflects the deep-rooted brotherhood and shared destiny between the two countries, and it stands as a true testament to Gulf unity.
