PM Modi Takes Holy Dip at Sangam During Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj today, where he took a holy dip at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the visit.
In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) emphasized Modi’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. “In line with his vision, the Prime Minister has consistently taken proactive steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites,” the statement read.
Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on January 13, is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, drawing millions of devotees and visitors from across the globe. The festival will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.
Several political leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, have also visited the grand event. The Maha Kumbh’s global appeal has attracted international personalities such as Laurene Powell Jobs, wife of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, and Hollywood actor Dakota Johnson.
The Kumbh Mela, held once every 12 years, is considered one of the most significant religious events in Hinduism, symbolizing faith, devotion, and the spiritual essence of India’s rich heritage.
