Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Heads to Kyrgyzstan for Regional Summit

Bishkek: Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for a three-day visit to Kyrgyzstan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek.
During the gathering, which brings together leaders from across Eurasia to mark 25 years of the alliance, Sharif will address the summit to outline Pakistan's position on regional and global affairs. He is also scheduled to hold series of side-line meetings with foreign leaders, participate in the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games, and hold formal discussions with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to enhance bilateral trade, energy, and security links.
The visit holds further strategic weight as Pakistan is set to officially assume the chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State for the 2026–2027 period, positioning Islamabad to host the grouping's next major leadership summit.
