ADFD Highlights Emirati Women’s Role
Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has highlighted the growing contribution of Emirati women to the UAE’s sustainable development journey, noting that women account for 45% of the Fund’s Emirati workforce.
The Fund made the remarks as it marked Emirati Women’s Day 2026, held this year under the theme “We Emerge Stronger and Better.” The occasion recognises the achievements of Emirati women and their contribution to the UAE’s development and future ambitions.
ADFD said Emirati women have a strong presence across the organisation, contributing to its development mandate both locally and internationally.
The Fund continues to support professional development, leadership and innovation, creating opportunities for national talent to strengthen their capabilities and contribute to its strategic priorities.
H.E. Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, said Emirati women are playing an increasingly important role in the UAE’s development, contributing to the country’s competitiveness and strengthening its position globally.
“This year’s theme reflects the UAE’s confidence in the capabilities of its women and their ability to turn challenges into opportunities,” Al Suwaidi said.
He added that Emirati women continue to contribute across sectors, drive innovation and create lasting impact while remaining rooted in the UAE’s values and culture.
“Their achievements are an integral part of the country’s continued progress and its growing presence on the global stage,” he said.
Al Suwaidi also described women’s empowerment as both an institutional responsibility and a strategic investment in the UAE’s future.
“At ADFD, we see the empowerment of women as both an institutional responsibility and a strategic investment in our future,” he said.
He said enabling Emirati talent to develop, innovate and take on greater responsibilities would strengthen the Fund’s ability to deliver on its development mandate and respond to evolving global challenges.
“This approach reflects the vision of the UAE’s leadership and our commitment to building a capable, future-ready workforce,” Al Suwaidi added.
