Al Noor Hosts Professional Development Workshop on “Neuroplasticity and Well-being”

Al Noor International School successfully hosted a Professional Development Workshop titled “Neuroplasticity and Well-being” in the school campus.

The event was attended by over 100 educators, including teachers and principals from St. Christopher’ School, Bahrain Bayan School, Noor Al Diyar Private School, Quality Education School, various schools across the Kingdom as well as from Al Noor School.

The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Louise Aukland, a highly respected teacher trainer, researcher, and public engagement specialist affiliated with the University of Oxford. Internationally recognized for her expertise in cognitive development and educational innovation, Ms. Aukland brought valuable insights into the science of neuroplasticity—the brain’s lifelong ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections.

During the session, participants explored how neuroplasticity can inform effective teaching strategies that promote deeper learning, adaptability, and long-term memory retention in students. Ms. Aukland emphasized the importance of creating learning environments that encourage curiosity, reflection, and positive emotional engagement, all of which are key factors in shaping the brain’s development.

The school’s Founder and Chairman, presented a memento to the esteemed resource person, in recognition of her valuable contribution.

The school Director, Dr. Muhammad Mashood highlighted the commitment of the school to nurture not just intellect, but also character and wellbeing. The Principal, Mr AbdulRahman Al Kooheji appreciated the interactive workshop and said that it encouraged open dialogue, reflection, and the sharing of ideas among participants.
