New Balance has launched a series of community-led “Grey Runs” across the Middle East as part of its annual Grey Days celebration, bringing runners together through inclusive events focused on connection, movement and community spirit.
The initiative is taking place throughout May across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, with organisers aiming to create relaxed and accessible running experiences open to participants of all fitness levels.
Unlike traditional competitive races, the Grey Runs are designed around participation rather than performance, with no registration requirements and an emphasis on social connection. Each event begins with a shared community run before transitioning into post-run gatherings featuring coffee, breakfast snacks and opportunities for participants to connect.
In the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, the events are being led through the New Balance Run Club, whose coaching network has expanded significantly across the region amid growing interest in recreational running and wellness-focused communities.
The company said the sessions are designed to be approachable for both experienced runners and beginners, reflecting the broader shift towards more inclusive fitness cultures across the Middle East.
In Kuwait, New Balance has partnered with Morning Milers to host a community-focused Grey Run aimed at supporting the country’s growing grassroots running scene.
The Grey Runs are part of New Balance’s “Run Your Way” campaign, which encourages people to approach running in a way that suits their own lifestyle and goals.
The initiative also forms part of Grey Days, a month-long celebration dedicated to the brand’s signature grey colour, which was first introduced in the 1980s for urban running footwear designed to blend into city environments while maintaining a distinctive identity.
Today, the company says the colour symbolises authenticity, timelessness and community — values it continues to promote through its global campaigns and local partnerships.
