Picture this – you go into your pantry and find a can of corn that has not seen the light of day, a can of tuna that is waiting to be consumed, and bananas that now qualify for a banana bread. Then you turn around and see the tray of eggs that you promised to make healthier breakfasts with, but you ate an expensive wrap from a fast food joint, or caved and bought a doughnut instead. Your produce basket has a couple of potatoes that are close to turning into plants and the onions following suit. Then, you look into your fridge and find some cherry tomatoes that have seen better days, a large bowl of cooked white rice, and you wonder what to do with all this. More often, some produce ends up in the bin, but thanks to AI, we can now use ingredients no matter how big or small the quantity, to produce tasty meals.

AI is not meant to replace people; it is here to aid us. When we use AI tools responsibly, we benefit a lot as these tools make our lives easier. Imagine using the ‘mind’ of an AI tool instead of your own mind to create delicious meals out of the ingredients present at hand. While exploring Chat GPT, I came across this unique feature – one of many mind-boggling things that Chat GPT can do. I have tried recipe generator tools, but Chat GPT stood out for me. Here is the reason – recipe generator tools assist with recipes, but there is more freedom in tweaking recipes using Chat GPT. Let me explain.

I entered a few random ingredients and asked Chat GPT to generate recipes. I was amazed at my findings. Chat GPT was able to come up with exciting recipes utilizing the ingredients. This is where it gets more interesting. Using Chat GPT, you can tweak the number of servings, choose cuisines and courses i.e. mains, appetizers, desserts, add, remove or substitute ingredients. You can even choose to disclose the quality/state/ripeness of your ingredients such as overripe bananas or avocados, stale bread, pickled cucumbers, overcooked rice, boiled and refrigerated boiled potatoes.

Furthermore, you can provide information on likes, dislikes, allergies, and the software stores this information in its memory for reference while creating recipes for you. Fascinating, right? Don’t worry; you can delete these memories later on.

So next time you are struggling with meal ideas, try using Chat GPT. The world is your oyster!

Here is Chat GPT’s recipe for banana bread pudding with honey and raisins, based on my input. Would you dare to try it?
