Knight of Honour lifts HH Shaikh Abdulla Cup at REHC

Knight of Honour lifted the HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup in the final race of the day yesterday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.

The five-year-old gelding, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing and trained by Ali Abdulmajeed, was ridden by jockey Jason Watson to the win in the 12-furlong, BD3,000 event.

Brave The Storm finished in second place for Aqeel Hassan Abdulrahim, Jaber Ramadhan and Abdulla Faisal, while Glen Savage was third for M and E Racing, AM Smith and Lee Newman.

In attendance at yesterday’s races were REHC High Committee chairman His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

In the seventh and penultimate event of the eight-race card, The Parent hoisted the HH Shaikh Sultan bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for Al Adiyat Racing, AM Smith and Gerald Mosse after nine furlongs to take the lion’s share of the BD3,000 prize.

Malakye was the runner-up for Al Jasmi Stable, Nader Aljasmi and Koen Clijmans.

In the fifth race, Galatia triumphed to clinch the HH Shaikh Mohamed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup competing for HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Ebrahim Nader.

Echo Through Time was second for Al Adiyat Racing, AM Smith and Gerland Mosse; while Khazzama finished third for HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Abdulla Faisal. Al Nuwayef won race two to come away with the HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup.

The four-year-old triumphed for Victorious, Fawzi Nass and Stephane Ladjadj.

Gharbiya was second for HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Ebrahim Nader; while Son of Zous was third for M and E Racing, AM Smith and Edinson Rodriguez.

Elsewhere yesterday, Dahis won the HH Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohamed bin Salman Al Khalifa Cup for Mohamed Sami Hashem Al Meshqab Racing, Osama Hashim and Abdulla Faisal; Zeal claimed the HH Shaikh Mohamed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup in race three for Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, Haider Ebrahim and Ebrahim Nader; Kuheilan Al Adiyat 1894 won the HH Shaikh Sultan bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for Victorious, Yousif Taher and Adam Al Balushi; and Mubtadaa captured The Jockey Club Cup for Lama Abbas Mohamed Anan, Talal Al Alawi and Abdulla Faisal.
