The Daily Tribune –

International Olympic Day will be celebrated on Saturday in the Kingdom.

The purpose of this annual sporting event is to foster noble Olympic values and promote a healthy lifestyle in society.

This comes in line with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which aims to spread Olympism and bring nations together through sports and inclusion of all societal layers.

In 2022, the theme for International Olympic Day is “Together, For a Peaceful World”.

A series of programmes are curated for this global event targetting primarily children (six years old and above) and youth, while welcoming all age groups to participate.

The main event will be organised at The Avenues Bahrain, from 10am until 10pm.

The programme is open for public participation and will include different sports and activities such as table tennis, basketball, football, judo, boxing, weightlifting, karate and fencing.

The programme will also include sports performances by national athletes and officials from various sports associations.

A string of activities will also take place at Al Doy International Sports and Martial Arts Centre and the Bahrain Swimming Association to amplify the impact of International Olympic Day and reinforce its principles.

As a reward for getting active, the BOC is offering an exciting collection of prizes for the participants and invites everyone to join the fun activities on that day.
