Khalifa bin Salman Institute of Technology, East Riffa School into schools tournament semifinals

Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Institute of Technology and East Riffa Secondary School progressed to the semifinals of the Nasser bin Hamad Tournament for Secondary Schools after defeating Isa Town Secondary School and Shaikh Abdulaziz Secondary School respectively.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Institute of Technology team were gifted their win by the opposition’s goalkeeper who wrongfully passed the ball to Mohammed Hamadah when the result was 1-1. And the latter rolled the ball towards the empty net in the 24th minute of the second half.

The first half ended 1-1, but it was Isa Town Secondary who opened the score thanks to Ammar Al Basri whose well-crafted free-kick beat the goalkeeper in the 3rd minute.

However, the winners levelled the score six minutes later thanks to Nawaf Al Dooseri’s fine header after meeting the ball from a well-executed corner kick.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Institute of Technology team showed their defensive strength in protecting their lead in the second half after overturning the result en route to sealing their win.

Meanwhile, East Riffa Secondary School team advanced following a comfortable 3-0 win over Shaikh Abdulaziz Secondary School, although all their goals came in the second half.

Both teams struggled to create any scoring opportunity in the first half as they headed into the halftime break with the result being 0-0. Abdulaziz Osama found the net after six minutes into the second half, and Salah Saleh doubled the East Riffa Secondary School team’s lead after three minutes.

Shaikh Abdulaziz Secondary School team completely collapsed, and Khalid Ahmed added the third goal to wrap up the result.
