Dela Cruz claims All-Filipino Category golf title

Fifteen-year-old Charles Dela Cruz of the Philippine School Bahrain captured the title in the All-Filipino Category of the “Palo Para Sa Kalayaan” Golf Tournament held on 17 June at the Royal Golf Club Bahrain.
Labor Attache Vicente Cabe of Manama PE finished second, and Capt. Francis Cacho, AFP Senior National Representative to the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), third. In the Guest Player (Foreigner) Category, Jonathan Macawile, US Navy, emerged champion.
Charmaine Young, Awali Golf Club, claimed the Ladies Category champion’s trophy. The event was organised by the Embassy of the Philippines, in cooperation with Filipino community organisations Pinoy Golfers in Bahrain (PGB) and Good Cause Bahrain, as part of the commemorative activities for the 124th Philippine Independence.
After the tournament, the Embassy hosted a Fellowship Night for the golfers and special guests at The Majlis of the Royal Golf Club. Thai Ambassador Piyapak Sricharoen and Brunei Charge d’ Affaires Farida Hairani Hisham were among the guests at the fellowship dinner.
