Bahrain’s national youth handball team has begun its first training camp as it builds towards the Asian Championship in China this July, a tournament that also serves as qualification for the 2027 World Championship.

The team is being led by national coach Husam Madan and assistant coach Jaafar Abdulqadir following their official appointment. A 26-player squad has been selected from clubs across Bahrain as preparations get underway.

The squad includes players from Al Ahli, Al Ettifaq, Al Shabab, Al Tadamun, Al Dair, Barbar, Tubli, and Samaheej, reflecting a wide selection of talent from across the domestic league.

From Al Ahli are Mehdi Jaffar, Ahmed Eid, and Mohammed Tarada, while Al Ettifaq is represented by Mohammed Haitham, Ali Fayed, Ali Mahdi, and Mohammed Zuhair. Al Shabab’s Hussain Al Zaimoor, Al Tadamun’s Hassan Khatam, and Al Dair quartet Fadel Abbas, Mohammed Jaffer, Mohammed Isa, and Wadee Hilal are also included.

Barbar contributes Haider Mohammed, Mahmood Jalil, Salman Al Showaikh, Sayed Majid Al Muhafdha, Qassim Sabt, and Ahmed Abdullah. From Tubli are Mohammed Shamlooh, Jassim Mohammed, and Sayed Ahmed Al Falahi, while Samaheej is represented by Abudhir Jaffar, Ali Sami, Abbas Hussain, and Ahmed Al Samaheeji.

As part of their preparations, Bahrain will travel to Doha later this month for a week-long training camp following an invitation from the Qatar Handball Association. The camp will include several friendly matches designed to test the squad ahead of the Asian Championship.
