Al Khaldiya lead as season enters final stretch

The 19th round of the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League begins tonight with two matches scheduled at 7pm, as the competition enters its final matchdays. Al Khaldiya will face Al Hidd at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, while Al Ahli meet Sitra at Bahrain National Stadium.
The round continues on Tuesday with Al Shabab facing Bahrain Club and Al Malikiya taking on Al Najma, before concluding on Wednesday with Al Ahli against Riffa and Muharraq meeting Budaiya.
In the standout clash between Al Khaldiya and Al Hidd, league leaders Al Khaldiya will aim for a 16th win of the season to extend their lead at the top and pull further clear of nearest challengers Muharraq. Al Hidd, on 24 points, will be targeting a strong finish to the season as they look to improve their position in the table, currently sitting 6th.
In the other fixture tonight, Al Ahli faces Sitra in an important match for both sides. Al Ahli will be looking to reach 28 points and temporarily move into 4th place, while Sitra, sitting 10th with 18 points, need a result to distance themselves from the relegation playoff zone.
Ahead of the round, the standings are as follows: Al Khaldiya lead with 45 points, followed by Muharraq on 43, Riffa on 37, Al Malikiya on 27, Aali Club on 25, Hidd on 24, Al Ahli on 23, Budaiya on 21, Al Najma on 19, Sitra on 18, Al Shabab on 11, and Bahrain Club on 7.
