Belatrech and Jalow Fire Al Hidd Into Fifth
Al Hidd produced a ruthless second-half display to defeat Sitra 4–1 last night at Bahrain National Stadium, a result that reinforced their growing momentum in the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League a and condemned Abdulmajeed’s side to another difficult evening.
Sitra began with urgency, pressing well and looking the more proactive team in the opening half-hour. But fine margins turned the game in Hidd’s favour in the 40th minute. Algerian forward Osama Belatrech capitalised on a scramble following a corner, reacting quickly to a miskick from Sitra defender Maicon Douglas to poke past goalkeeper Yusuf Habib.
The second goal came on the stroke of halftime. Gambian Jumai Jalow cut in from the right and curled a stunning effort into the top corner, sending Hidd into the break 2–0 ahead despite Sitra enjoying the brighter start.
Hidd extended their lead five minutes after the restart. Jalow turned provider, threading a defence-splitting pass to Belatrech, who timed his run from the left before calmly tapping into the far corner to complete his brace.
The fourth arrived in the 62nd minute. Mohamed Al Akash won a crucial aerial duel in midfield against Carlos Fernandez, releasing Moroccan Mahmoud Al Kaissoumi, who squared to Jalow. Left unmarked, Jalow placed his second of the night into the corner, sealing a commanding victory.
Sitra were briefly handed a red card in the dying minutes when Rayan Fourgi, a substitute, went in studs-up on Walid Karoui Hill. After a check, the decision was rescinded and Fourgi received a yellow. They did manage a late consolation, with Othman Al Hajj’s effort from outside the box deflecting past the keeper as the final action of the match.
The win lifts Shukri Al Bajawi’s Hidd into fifth place on 21 points, reinforcing their upward trajectory as Matchweek 15 concludes. Sitra remain 10th on 15 points, entrenched in the relegation zone, with Abdulmajeed facing the challenge of restoring belief and stability in the weeks ahead.
