Al Ittihad Crowned Second Division Basketball Champions

Al Ittihad secured the 2025–26 Bahraini Second Division Basketball championship with a 91–76 victory over Samaheej in the season’s final round, confirming their dominance throughout the campaign.

The win capped an undefeated season, as Al Ittihad maintained consistency from start to finish, ensuring they finished top of the table and earning direct promotion to the Zain Bahrain Basketball League.

Following the final buzzer, Engineer Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, presented the team with the league trophy and gold medals. The ceremony, attended by federation board members and Al Ittihad Club President Anwar Sharaf, highlighted the collective effort behind the club’s success and marked the official conclusion of a remarkable campaign.

Meanwhile, the second-placed team in the Second Division will now face the fifth-placed team from the Zain League in a promotion playoff, setting up the final spot in next season’s top-tier competition.

Hassan Yaseen, Chairman of the Competitions Committee at the Bahrain Basketball Federation, reflected on the season’s overall standard, noting that clubs demonstrated both competitiveness and fair play. “Al Ittihad’s title and promotion reflect the club’s planning and discipline,” Yaseen said. “This season shows that Bahraini basketball is strong, with structured programs enabling clubs to field competitive teams across all divisions.”

With the championship secured and promotion confirmed, Al Ittihad now turns its attention to the challenges of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League, carrying forward the momentum of a flawless season.
