Bahrain Bourse Cup attracts season’s largest horse racing field TDT | Manama Excitement was renewed at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club on Friday, November 21st, for the fourth race meeting of the 2025/2026 season. Following the successful running of the seventh edition of the Bahrain International Cup, this meeting promised special thrills, highlighted by the continued sponsorship of the Bahrain Bourse Cups for the second consecutive season.

The event witnessed the largest participation so far this season, with 104 horses submitting final entries across the card. This high volume of competition was spread across nine races, with most of the contests centered on securing the prestigious Bahrain Stock Exchange Cups.

The first race was the Bahrain Stock Exchange Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses (WAHO) over 1200 meters, featuring a field of 12 runners, including notable names such as Al-Ma’naqi 1923 and Kuhailan Weld Umm Zurair 1959. This was immediately followed by the BHB Opening Bell Cup for locally bred horses over 1400 meters, featuring 11 contenders including Shard and Azz Al Bahrain.

Attention then shifted to the imported field in the third race, the Capital Markets Cup, a 1400-meter contest for Class 4 and maiden horses, featuring 11 runners. The speedsters vied for the Bahrain Stock Exchange Sprint Cup, a fiercely contested 1000-meter dash for locally bred horses, which saw 12 entrants including The Blue Lady and Bat Mobile.

Mid-card featured two key middle-distance contests for imported horses: the Bahrain Stock Exchange Handicap Cup over 2000 meters and the Bahrain Stock Exchange Mile Cup over 1600 meters. Later, the seventh race, the Bahrain Stock Exchange Cup for locally bred Class 4 and maiden horses, was heavily subscribed with 17 participants over 1600 meters.

The penultimate race was the Bahrain Stock Exchange Apprentice Jockeys Cup for locally bred horses, also over 1600 meters. The meeting then culminated with the BHB Closing Bell Cup, the ninth and final race of the day, contested by locally bred horses over the demanding distance of 2200 meters.
