Week 6 of the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League delivered drama until the final whistle, as Al Ahli fought back to draw 1-1 with Al Malkiya, while Bahrain Club snatched their first points of the season with a stoppage-time winner against A’ali.

Al Malkiya were reduced to ten men in the 8th minute when Sayed Hashim Isa was shown a red card following a lengthy VAR review for a high, studs-up challenge on Al Ahli’s Kaio Nunes. Despite the early setback, the hosts remained in the contest for much of the first half.

Al Ahli broke the deadlock in the 60th minute. Skipper Baqer Alasfoor picked up the ball just inside the box on the wing, danced past three defenders with some beautiful footwork, and fired a low shot past goalkeeper Hasan Taha. The effort, though relatively tame, left Taha with little chance as Al Ahli took the lead.

Malkiya responded swiftly. Just eight minutes later, Hassan Helal whipped in a precise cross that found Mohammed Salem, who powered a header beyond Al Ahli’s defence to level the score. The match ended 1-1, leaving Al Ahli in sixth place with two wins, two draws, and two losses, while Malkiya temporarily sit atop the table.

At Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Stadium, Bahrain Club finally got off the mark this season, beating A’ali 1-0 in stoppage time. Gabriel Vasconcelos sent over a delicate chipped cross from the left, which Fahad Busharar met and squared for Sami Al Husaini to volley home. The dramatic winner lifted Bahrain Club off the foot of the table, while A’ali remain in ninth with five points from six games.

Week 6 action continues today, with Al Najma hosting Al Shabab at Khalifa Sports City at 4:25 PM, before Al Hidd take on Budaiya at Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Stadium at 7 PM.
