Para-Athletes Head to Antalya

Bahrain’s athletics delegation is heading to Turkey for a preparatory training camp in Antalya, as part of the national team’s preparations for the Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan, in October 2026.

The delegation includes 11 athletes and four coaches. The team will be managed by technical director Abdulrazzaq Sawaiesa and team administrator Latifa Buhaji.

The camp is designed to strengthen the athletes’ physical and technical readiness through an intensive training programme, while providing a focused environment for the athletes and coaching staff as they prepare for the continental event.

The Bahrain delegation includes athletes competing across several athletics disciplines. Field events include shot put, discus, javelin and club throw, while track events include running and Frame Running over 100 and 400 metres.

The Antalya camp forms an important part of the team’s final preparation for the Asian Para Games, allowing the athletes to focus on improving performance and building competition readiness ahead of their participation in Japan.

The extended training period will also give the coaching staff an opportunity to assess the athletes’ progress and fine-tune preparations before the delegation travels to Nagoya for the October event.

With the Asian Para Games approaching, the camp is expected to provide Bahrain’s athletes with the training conditions needed to reach their best physical and technical levels and compete at the highest possible standard.
