NBB Commences University Phase of EVOLVE Following Conclusion of the School Programme

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has concluded the school cohort of the fifth edition of EVOLVE, its summer internship programme, and commenced the next phase for university participants. The transition marks the continuation of the 2026 programme, which began in July.

Throughout the school phase, participants were immersed in a structured programme combining classroom sessions, practical assignments, and on-the-job training. The experience was designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of the banking and financial services sector while strengthening their communication, teamwork, and professional skills.

The school cohort included participants from Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS), Bahrain Bayan School, St. Christopher’s School Bahrain, Al Hekma International School, Naseem International School, Arabian Pearl Gulf (APG) Private School, Beacon Private School, Sacred Heart School Bahrain, American School of Bahrain, Ahlia School, Shaikha Hessa Girls’ School (SHGS), Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST), and INJAZ Bahrain.

Following the completion of the first phase, EVOLVE has welcomed university participants representing British University of Bahrain, American University of Bahrain, Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), Bahrain Polytechnic, the Crown Prince's International Scholarship Program (CPISP), Euro University of Bahrain, and the University of Strathclyde, Bahrain. 

Students from the AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) and the Royal Humanitarian Foundation also joined in, extending the programme’s reach to the youth supported by both charitable organisations. This group will take part in a similarly structured learning journey, combining technical development with direct exposure to different functions across NBB.

The curriculum covers topics including banking, artificial intelligence, fintech, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, first aid, mental health awareness, sign language, team building, and sovereign wealth funds. Sessions are delivered by NBB employees alongside Mada Translation, Marsh, BIBF, Emeritus, Bahrain Fintech Bay, Bahrain Paramedic Academy, INJAZ Bahrain, Mumtalakat, and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). 

Now in its fifth consecutive year, EVOLVE continues to connect academic learning with professional experience for students at different stages of their education. With the university phase now officially underway, NBB remains focused on ensuring the participants gain practical insights to excel in their future career paths.
