Bahrain Chamber Resolves 88% of SME Complaints by End of June 2026

55 out of 62 complaints successfully resolved through collaboration with government entities

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Bahrain Chamber) has successfully resolved 88% of complaints submitted by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by the end of June 2026, reflecting the effectiveness of its business support system and close cooperation with government entities.

Issa Murad, Director of the SME Support and Member Complaints Department at Bahrain Chamber, said the Chamber remains committed to supporting SMEs and strengthening Bahrain's business environment by maintaining direct engagement with business owners and providing practical solutions to the challenges they face.

According to department statistics, the Chamber received a total of 62 complaints during the reporting period. Of these, 55 were successfully resolved, while four remain unresolved for various reasons. Three complaints were found to be outside the department's jurisdiction, and their submitters were referred to the appropriate authorities. Murad said the figures demonstrate the department's efficient complaint-handling mechanisms and its prompt response to the needs of the business community.

He noted that the results align with Bahrain Chamber's strategy to develop a comprehensive support system for SMEs, recognizing the sector as a key driver of the national economy. SMEs play a vital role in creating jobs, stimulating investment, and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Murad explained that the establishment of the SME Support and Member Complaints Department was one of the priorities of the Chamber's 31st Board of Directors. The department serves as an institutional platform for receiving complaints and inquiries from business owners and coordinating directly with government ministries and service providers to address obstacles affecting businesses and improve the overall business environment in Bahrain.

He added that the 88% complaint resolution rate reflects the strong and ongoing cooperation between the Bahrain Chamber and various government ministries and agencies. Complaints that remain under review continue to receive close attention until appropriate solutions are reached, while cases outside the department's remit are handled by directing complainants to the relevant authorities.

Murad reaffirmed Bahrain Chamber's commitment to further enhancing its services for SMEs, listening to their needs, and strengthening communication channels. As the leading representative of Bahrain's private sector, the Chamber will continue to support economic development, improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the business environment, and reinforce the Kingdom's position as an attractive destination for investment and business.
