Bahrain, UAE sign key economic cooperation deals

Minister of Finance and National Economy, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, has emphasised the enduring bond between Bahrain and the UAE, highlighting their exemplary collaboration across various sectors, particularly in finance, economy, and investment.

He credited the strong ties to the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the UAE President His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Shaikh Salman underscored the commitment of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

This dedication was evident as the Finance Minister signed the “Investment Encouragement and Protection” and “Elimination of Double Taxation” agreements with Mohammed bin Hadi Al Husseini, UAE’s Minister of State for Financial Affairs, during the Eighth Public Finance Forum and World Government Summit in Dubai.

These agreements are pivotal in fostering economic and trade opportunities, attracting mutual investments, and creating a conducive environment for economic growth. They align with Bahrain’s strategy to bolster economic ties with brotherly and friendly nations, contributing to the nation’s economic competitiveness and prosperity. The event, inaugurated by the UAE’s Minister for Financial Affairs, was organised in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund and the International Monetary Fund.
