“Bas Ik Vaari”, an English and Hindi movie, fully conceived and conceptualised in Bahrain, and written and directed by Preety Praveen, is set to be shown in the Kingdom next month.

Family bonding, a father-daughter relationship, and the misunderstandings that come with friendships, family, and second chances, are all storylines in the movie you will get a chance to experience.

“Just for once, give a second chance to your loved ones,” Praveen, writer and director, said during an exclusive interview with The Daily Tribune when relaying the essence of the hour-or-so-long movie,” Preety said.

“When dealing with the trials and tribulations of family and friendships, it is easy to hold a grudge against them; however, in this movie, we want to show that giving a second chance is important,” Preety said that she had written the story a few years back, pre-pandemic time, but as we were all in enervating isolation, the story would have to be put on hold.

But Preety didn’t let the pandemic halt her imagination and strong love for storytelling, instead, it reignited her passion for the script.

“Why not?” she asked. “After the pandemic was finished, I once again became inspired to bring this story to life, and I asked myself, ‘Why not?’” After the pandemic concluded, she said the human touch came back into everyone’s lives, making it even more necessary to continue this remarkable project.

Although Preety sparked the beginnings of this movie, she couldn’t have done it alone. It took a whole team to bring this spectacular movie to reality. “The support I received from the technical team, production team, and the cast and crew, was just phenomenal, and they truly depicted the movie perfectly,” Preety said.

She gave special thanks to Sachan Chandran, Priya Lal Achary, Karthick Raj, Shibin P Sidiq, Ishpreet Virdhi, Lainoj Reddesign, Gursahej Kaur, Praveen Nambiar, Asar Ziya, Anagha Sandeep Parkhi, Jagdeep Pal Singh, Kathu Sachindev, Sandeep Menon, and Amina Syed. Preety revealed that her cast showed remarkable expertise and professionalism, which exquisitely depicted the character’s development.
