An abandoned Filipino mother of three needs help to pay for her children’s DNA testing and a flight back to the Philippines, it has emerged. Jocelyn Arano, 45, and her children, ages 1, 2, and 7, who were allegedly fathered by a Pakistani, are now homeless and without food.

Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society (BHRWS) Secretary General Faisal Fulad expressed sympathy for the family, stressing that the children should have the rights and advantages of a peaceful life.

“No matter who they are, what they think, or what they look like, and no matter who their parents or families are or what their parents or families believe or do, no child should be mistreated for any reason,” Fulad said.

"The mother could not pay the rent in Muharraq, and the father, who is from Pakistan, has abandoned them.

Despite the mother’s best efforts, the flat owner threw the family out with some clothing. After several months of begging their neighbour for food and rent, no one was able to help them.

A passing Filipino woman saw the three children on the streets of Juffair, where the youngest was wailing from a fever, and the other two were begging for food. Later, she found the children’s mother sitting by the side of the road."

Meanwhile, BHRWS Foreign Workers Rights Committee director Lyn Le Altarejos said, “We are trying to get help from everyone to get them flight tickets and children’s DNA testing and help her through the immigration process."

"They are currently staying in an abandoned building. We buy them groceries and occasionally invite them to join us for dinner at any restaurant. The mother has contacted the Philippine Embassy to ask for help."

“I believe that everyone should support them financially, especially for the sake of the kids, so that they can start a new life in the Philippines. We humbly request that everyone donate any amount to the family and guarantee the children’s right to live.”
