Bahrain Chapter hosts 34th CBSE Gulf Sahodaya Principals Conference

Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava inaugurated the 34th CBSE Gulf Sahodaya Principals Conference organised by the Bahrain Chapter of CBSE Schools. The CBSE Gulf Sahodaya is a council of CBSE-affiliated schools from the six-member countries – Kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UAE. The two-day conference was hosted by the Bahrain Chapter on 25 and 26 June.

The principals and delegates got together to promote cooperation among member schools, share expertise and undertake activities to improve the quality of education highlighting the theme of the conference “Transforming Education.”

The Bahrain Chapter Convener and Principal of Al Noor International School (CBSE Curriculum), Mrs Monika Sethi gave the welcome address and accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, the Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Senior CBSE officials, the Managements of all CBSE schools of Bahrain, the Executive Committee members of the Gulf Sahodaya and more than 200 principals from the six GCC countries who joined the conference in hybrid mode.

In his address, HE Mr Srivastava praised the CBSE Schools for providing quality education to students’ across GCC countries and for helping the Indian diaspora by providing continuity and affordability in education. Dr Sanyam Bhardwa, Controller of Examinations CBSE, Dr Joseph Emannuel, Director Academics, and Mr J K Yadav, Regional Director CBSE, virtually addressed the principals and had live discussions with them. Louise Auckland from Oxford University was the keynote speaker on Day 2 of the conference and spoke on “The Brain and neuroplasticity”. Another prominent keynote speaker and Chief Confluencer, Dr A Senthil Kumaran, of The Learners Confluence, spoke on “Transforming Education”. The vote of thanks for the two days conference was presented by Mr Gopinath Menon, Principal, The New Indian School, Bahrain.
