Bahrain pursues Ramadan’s essence by giving back to those less fortunate

With merciful doors wide open, the blessed month of Ramadan always brings out the best ion people in Bahrain and well beyond. United within a pluralistic and compassionate community, people in Bahrain come together as they engage more profoundly with their spiritual and humane side. As a multicultural society in Bahrain, people are fueled by helping others who are less fortunate or are in need.

Ramadan comes around to remind people of the Islamic morals and ethics as they celebrate the month by also spreading joy to the less fortunate. The Bahraini community is known for its deeply rooted values that have empowered it to face adversity and challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic with solidarity and togetherness.

 People live for and on the joy of others. During the holy month, people focus on coming together as one. Charities and humanitarian funds of different kinds from all over the Kingdom rely on the spirit of generosity by providing food and essentials to individuals and families of the less fortunate.

People can donate by reaching out to their local charities and contribute in simple ways. And thanks to the power of evolution and technology, these funds and charities are going above and beyond when it comes to facilitating and easing donations by hosting different events and collaborations to reach out to as many people as possible.

The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) sets an outstanding example.“During the blessed month of Ramadan, the Foundation, under the leadership of His Highness representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the foundation carries out many programs," RHF Secretary-General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed said.

"They include distributing Ramadan food baskets to the families of widows, orphans and the needy, producing meals and Iftars, various sports activities and meetings.” The Ahl Al Ma’ruf campaign was launched to support orphans, widows and needy families to meet their requests, he said referring to a fund-raising campaign carried out through Bahrain TV.

"We were able to collaborate with social media influencers to adopt cases and market them until the required amount of donations is completed,” he said. In Bahrain, people live in a world where every service is simply one click away. These services have developed from delivering food and groceries. Nowadays, local platforms provide people with numerous charity funds and organizations to choose from and donate easily at the comfort of your home.
