Bahrain, good soil for business
Bahrain has been ranked 65 in world in a report, which assessed the ‘ease of doing business’. Of the 189 countries assessed in the report, Bahrain came 65 in the ranking.
The study was done by World Bank for its ‘Ease of Doing Business report 2016’. With the help of good indicators in ‘Dealing with construction permits, ‘Resolving Insolvency’ and ‘Registering property’, Bahrain came second best in the Gulf region beating Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.
Only United Arab Emirates topped Bahrain after it was ranked 31 worldwide. Saudi Arabia was ranked 83, Kuwait 101, Qatar 68 and Oman 70. Despite scoring better than its six GCC peers, Bahrain failed to match its scores from last year. Last year, the Kingdom was ranked 61 and had better scores.
