Bahrain to start providing third booster dose to high-risk category persons

Bahrain will start providing the third booster dose to high-risk category people just three months after receiving their second dose of vaccination, said National Taskforce for Combatting Coronavirus member Dr Manaf Al Qahtani.
The four groups of people at risk that will be covered by this decision are people aged 50 years and above, people suffering from severe obesity as well as immunodeficiency issue, and frontline workers.
Dr Al Qahtani said that all vaccinations will have booster doses details of which will be announced later.
“We are in contact with the companies that produce them (booster doses) and approved health organizations.”
He also stressed that Bahrain’s decision to provide the third booster dose to those vaccinated with Sinopharm vaccine is only for enhancing immunity and not because there is any weakness in the medicine as alleged.
