Bahrain Polytechnic plans another floor, to appoint security guards

Bahrain Polytechnic, the world-class provider of applied higher education, is moving forward with its expansion plans. According to a tender board document, the Polytechnic is constructing one more floor to block 19 within the campus. The additional floor will be dedicated mainly to executive offices, workspaces for administration staff, meeting and archive rooms.

The floor, which will have a built-up area of 3,207m, is required to complete in nine months. The tender issued by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning attracted eight parties.

The bids range between BHD 995,000.000 and BHD 1,841,271.886. Al Jameel Construction quoted the lowest amount. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa established Bahrain Polytechnic by Royal Decree No. 65 of 2008.

The deal emerged as Tender Board, the independent regulatory body charged with supervising government bidding and bidding practices, opened 21 bids received for four tenders placed by three administrative bodies. Bahrain Polytechnic also had opened one more tender, which said it is hiring security guards for its Campus at Isa Town.

The contract calls for around 48 hours of security service per week for a year and a half. “Total required security guards is 18, 13 male and five female,” the tender board statement said. The job attracted nine contractors. Kingdom Security Protection Services, which quoted BHD 81,988.200, emerged as the lowest bidder.

Bapco tenders Finally, the committee opened two tenders in the oil and gas sector for the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). The first was for purchasing a catalyst for a hydrocracking unit No. 2 for the year 2022 and received three bids.

The second tender was for the purchase of Dresser-Rand parts. The tender found a single bidder. Representatives of the administering authorities and the companies participating took part in the bid opening process. All bids will be subject to technical and financial evaluation, and the best will be awarded based on conditions and the lowest price.
