National Action Charter placed Bahrain among developed countries: Electricity Minister

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, and Chief Executive Officer of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, have extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as to the Bahraini people on the 20th anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC), which is celebrated on February 14.

In a statement, the minister asserted that NAC anniversary is an opportunity to recall with pride the great cohesion between the leadership and the people reflected in the Bahraini people’s overwhelming endorsement of the royal pioneering initiative by a sweeping 98.4% majority, noting that the inauguration of the NAC has placed Bahrain among developed countries, and ushered in a new era of comprehensive development in the kingdom.

Al-Mubarak stressed that HM the King’s national project has opened wider horizons in the political, social, cultural, media and service fields, adding that Bahrain’s landmark achievements are the fruitful outcome of such a national project, implemented during HM the King’s prosperous era.

EWA’s CEO affirmed that the approval of the National Action Charter is a source of pride for the landmark national accomplishments that resulted from it, noting that NAC reflects HM King Hamad’s farsighted vision and that its endorsement by a sweeping majority proved the strong leadership-people cohesion and consensus.

The minister added that the celebration of NAC anniversary is an opportunity to promote the values of belonging to the cherished homeland and loyalty to HM the King, as well as to highlight the kingdom’s landmark sustainable development achievements in various fields, and the government’s tireless efforts to provide the necessary infrastructure and public facilities to support the national economy and sustainable development in the kingdom.

He added that the electricity and water sector has made quantum leaps over the past years, becoming a major supporter of the kingdom’s urban development and national economy, in line with HM the King’s directives.
