Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit a tribute to medical staff

 President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Head of the National Medical Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19), has affirmed that His Majesty the King’s announcement of the Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit is a great tribute to all workers in the medical sector.

In a press statement marking the occasion, the SCH President expressed, on behalf of all affiliates of the medical sector, utmost thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the generous initiative that bears the name of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister who has been running since the beginning the national efforts of Bahrain Taskforce resolutely and competently under the royal leadership. He described the well-deserved medal as an honour for all affiliates of the medical sector who spared no effort in serving the nation and people.

 Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa said all indices confirm the kingdom’s great success in attaining the forecast goal of containing the virus and mitigating its spread thanks to Allah Almighty and the implementation of the royal directives by a team led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also praised awareness and cooperation of the Bahraini people to achieve aspirations and serve the nation.

 The SCH President pointed out the successive good news in the Kingdom of Bahrain, including HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s announcement of the availability of a secure vaccine for the virus which will be administered free of charge to all citizens and residents, in line with the royal directives to preserve the safety of all and boost the preemptive health security plans. He also pointed out a national vaccination scheme that comprises 27 health centres to vaccinate 10,000 people who are over 18 years daily. He stressed the ongoing efforts in this respect emphasizing keenness to provide the vaccines under the umbrella of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and through the accreditation of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).

 Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa concluded by saying that the medal comes at a time the kingdom is celebrating its National Days. He extended heartfelt thanks to HM the King for his generous initiative reiterating a pledge to continue the dedicated work in the medical field and in serving the nation, the leadership and people.
