Virtual classes begin today

Preparations are all set for the virtual classes which start today and continue into the first two weeks of the new academic year, said the Education Ministry.

The Ministry said it has communicated with parents and students on class schedules and clarification over the functioning of virtual classes. Latifa Al-Bonoodha, the Assistant Undersecretary for General and Technical Education, said the focus during the first two weeks is on getting on with the “Times” programme as well as the lessons, activities and discussions on the education ministry’s portal.

“The links and instructions to help students activate their accounts in the virtual classroom and the educational portal are all provided,” Al- Bonoodha added that guidance on obtaining technical support, to clear a glitch, if faced, is also given to students.

On the broadcast dates of the televised session, Al Bounouza said, “It will be made available after considering the opinion of the students and their parents.” She added: “Those classes will also be available on the Ministry’s YouTube channels, and the channel for Special Education and Technical Education.” For queries related to virtual classes call on one of the following numbers from 8am to 1pm : 17873173, 17873150, 17873095, 17896829, 17896734 and 17896720.
