Two COVID-19 deaths

Two men, a 54-year-old and 73-year-old expatriates are the latest casualties of Bahrain’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Bahrain’s ministry of health announced the deaths separately on its Twitter page. Health officials offered Bahrain’s condolences to the families of the deceased. The new deaths also raised the total number of coronavirus fatalities in the Kingdom to 170.

As of yesterday, there are a total of 3,454 active coronavirus cases in the Kingdom, of which 3,419 patients are in stable health conditions. Some 97 patients are there in the Kingdom currently receiving treatment, out of which 35 patients are admitted for critical care. Health ministry also conducted 8,142 COVID-19 tests yesterday, bringing the total number of tests conducted till date to 962,334.

Officials detected 378 new cases yesterday, of which 132 are expatriate workers, 236 are cases of active contacts and 10 are travel related. The ministry also reported 337 COVID-19 recoveries yesterday, raising the number of people relieved of their symptoms to 42, 806.
