Shaikh Nasser shines in race

His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team Captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa led the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team to the first three places in the endurance race of 73rd Royal Windsor Horse Show, held in the United Kingdom yesterday.
Shaikh Nasser was placed first for the second year in a row, while team members Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and Raed Mahmood came in second and third places respectively.
More than fifty riders, representing Great Britain, Hong Kong, Holland, Oman, Poland, South Africa, Argentina, Spain and France participated.
On the occasion, Shaikh Nasser thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for attending the race.
He attributed the recent victory to the continuous support and guidance of His Majesty King Hamad to equestrian and endurance sports, being the main motivator to the members of the team.
Shaikh Nasser said the four stages of the race were tough and witnessed intense competition and highlighted the the team’s achievement, which he said will push team members to win more championships in the future.
The three Bahraini winners will receive trophies today and the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team and riders from other countries will compete today for His Majesty the King’s Cup.

Third Stage: 1) R Mahmood (1:21:47), 2) Shaikh Mohammed (1:21:34), 3) Shaikh Nasser (1:18:26).
Final Stage: 1) Shaikh Nasser (5:33:11), 2) Shaikh Mohammed (5:33:11), 3) R Mahmood (5:33:11).
