Voluntary work leads to Arab ties, says Premier

Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the current Arab situation required Arabs to hold on to areas that yield full cooperation and coordination, including voluntary work, which provides broader opportunities for enhancing Arab cooperation and complementarity.

He pointed out that some countries were targeting a covert war aimed at destroying development in the region and plunging it into the spiral of violence.

HRH Premier’s remarks came when he held a meeting yesterday at Gudaibiya Palace with the President of the Good Word Society, Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who introduced to him the winners of the fifth edition of the Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work.

HRH Premier stressed that voluntary work was encouraged by the Islamic religion and genuine Arab values. “It is also part of integrated religious and national efforts aiming to promote human rights and dignity.” 

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of voluntary work as one of the catalysts for enhancing Arab cooperation, calling for availing of the solidarity and fraternity environment created by voluntary work to serve Arab issues and cement Arab unity and cohesion.

HRH Premier stressed the importance of the initiatives adopted by Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa to foster Arab to mobilise support and serve human issues, praising the voluntary work award for its keenness on shedding light on the Arab societies’ bright models, who devoted themselves to the service of others. 

HRH Premier reiterated the government’s support to all efforts aiming to foster values of dedication and giving at the domestic and Arab levels. He congratulated the winners of the Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work.
