Forum on women to be held on 21
Manama Within the activities and programmes under the initiative ‘Social Communication’, launched by the Council of Representatives for the sake of intensifying its interaction with all segments of the Bahraini society, the ‘Parliamentary Forum on Women’ will be held next Thursday, May 21. The parliamentary forum is expected to attract more than 100 members who represent women’s societies and committees in the organisations and institutions of the civil society, a number of officials from the ministries and Supreme Council for Women (SCW). The forum will feature panel discussions and group sessions between MPs and members in women’s societies as well as committees on their suggestions and aspirations. It will identify the obstacles they face and the ways to overcome it, in order to discuss them in the parliament sessions, submit them to the government and follow-up on their implementation. The Committee on Women and Child, belongs to the Council of Representatives, will supervise the forum. The social communication committee at General Secretariat of Council of Representatives will organise and manage the forum.
