‘China committed to further enhance Bahrain relations’

Beijing is committed to further enhance ties with Bahrain since Kingdom is a significant co-operation partner in the Belt and Road Initiative in Gulf region, said China’s Ambassador to Bahrain Mr Anwaer, while speaking at the Mid-Autumn Festival Reception here. The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated by ethnic Chinese people, which dates back to nearly four thousand years ago.

The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night, corresponding to late September to early October of the Gregorian calendar with full moon at night. “Mid-Autumn Festival represents the season of reunion. This year we have celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Bahrain.

HE Xi Jinping, President of PR China and HE Li Keqiang, Premier of the PRChina exchanged congratulation cables with HM King Hamad and HRH Prince Khalifa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain and praised the fruitful outcomes for the development of our bilateral friendly co-operation,” the envoy said. “Bahrain is not only an important member of the Arab League and the Gulf Cooperation Council, but also a significant cooperation partner in jointly construction of the Belt and Road Initiative in Gulf region.

Over the past 30 years, especially since the state visit for HM King Hamad to China in September 2013, the high-level exchanges have become more frequent, the political mutual trust has been constantly strengthened, the economic co-operation has been rapidly promoted and the cultural exchanges and co-operation have achieved great success. “In April this year, HE Shaikha Mai, President of BACA attended the Second Belt and Road Initiative International Co-operation Forum in Beijing. The development of our bilateral co-operation has brought benefits to our two peoples, and will also promote strategic cooperation between China and GCC countries and make contributions to the peace, stability and prosperity of the region.

I believe that with the joint efforts of our two countries, the future of our bilateral relations will be more beautiful. “All the Chinese nationals in Bahrain are the witnesses and contributors of the bilateral friendship and co-operation. The Chinese Embassy and all the Chinese nationals in Bahrain will unite up to make great efforts to promote the economic and social development of Bahrain and write the new chapter for our bilateral relations,” Mr Anwaer pointed out. Further, speaking on the Belt and Road Initiative, he said: “China’s socialism building with Chinese characteristics has entered into a new era.

China will stay true to the mission of upholding world peace and to the path of peaceful development. China together with other countries, will push forward the Belt and Road cooperation under the commitment to achieving shared benefits through extensive consultation and joint contribution. “China will take an active part in the reform of the global governance system with a commitment to equity and justice.

China will promote exchange and mutual learning among different civilisations with an open and inclusive mind. China is committed to building a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind, thereby contributing even more to the development and prosperity of mankind, and aspiration shared world over.”
