Works Minister commends Kuwait Fund co-operation

Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Essam Khalaf, commended the support that the Kuwait Fund For Arabic Economic Development provides for different infrastructure projects in Bahrain. He expressed his wish for the co-operation to continue through more projects in the Kingdom. This came as the minister handed over a copy of ‘Salman Town Project’ book to Engineering Consultant at Kuwait Fund, Nasser Mohamed Al Sobe’i.

The book stresses the different stages of the Road Revamping Project and the entrances to Salman Town. This project was generously funded by Kuwait Fund, according to Works Ministry. The Kuwait Fund representative expressed his appreciation towards the Works Minister’s gesture of goodwill, stating how proud he is of the strong bond between the two countries.

Mr Al Sobe’i also expressed how proud he is to see such big projects continuously prosper in a sister country, commending the organisation and co-operation that he has seen from the Works Minister and the Finance Ministry representative with regard to the progress of the project. Undersecretary of Works Affairs, Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayat commended the good efforts of the members of Kuwait Funds, appreciating their endless co-operation with the ministry and the contractor throughout the different stages of the project, which is reflected through the quality and the performance of the work done on it.

“The ministry has just finished constructing the roads leading to Salman Town, and these roads are what links Salman Town to the roads network of the Kingdom,” the Works Ministry said in a statement issued yesterday. “The project is considered an important part in the roads network of Bahrain’s highways. “It has also facilitated traffic movement in the area, increased the capacity of roads and provides even more security.”

Attending the ceremony are Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Taha Al Fuqehi, Undersecretary of Works Affairs, Huda Fakhro, Roads Planning and Design Director, Kadhim Abdullatif, Roads Projects and Maintenance Director, Sayed Bader Alawi, Majid Al Zayed from Al Ghanim International (main contractor) and project representative from Parsons, Husam Awadh.
