Foreign Minister offers condolences

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as five Bahraini soldiers and 45 UAE soldiers were killed at a military base in the eastern province of Marib.

"The martyrdom of our brave soldiers while meeting the call of duty is a clear proof of the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to supporting Arab causes,” he said. This includes Bahrain's contribution in operations " Decisive Storm and Restoring Hope" as well as operation "Golden Arrow" to defend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to support legitimacy in Yemen, restore its security and stability, achieve the aspirations of the people of Yemen in development and prosperity and stopping their suffering. In addition, they also aim at defending the safety and security of the GCC and the entire Arab world, he added.

The Foreign Minister added that the soldiers gave their lives for their countries and nation and became exemplary role models in defending justice and upholding their national duty as their heroic and patriotic acts will continue to be a shining beacon for future generations to follow.

The Foreign Minister said "as we present our sincere condolences and sympathy to our leadership and to our brothers the United Arab Emirates leadership, people and the families of the martyrs, we pray to Allah Almighty to grant the heroes forgiveness, heavens and may they rest in peace after their great sacrifices and work in supporting justice and legitimacy in order to establish security and stability in Yemen.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain will spare no effort and will continue to be supportive of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its pioneering role in the defense of Arab and Islamic issues. “It will also continue to support the Arab and Islamic causes in all regional and international forums, sacrificing its soldiers for our Arab nation and sparing no efforts for leading progress initiatives to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the Arab people because Saudi is the strategic backbone of the Arab nation and is capable of providing a secure and prosperous future for their people and their countries,” he said.
