The Bahrain National Pavilion “Green Architectures” at Expo Milano 2015 (Feeding the Planet: Energy for Life) will continue to receive visitors until the end of October.
Through the National Pavilion, BACA aims to exhibit on a total space of 2,000 square meters the unique agrarian cultural heritage of the Kingdom. The pavilion was conceived to display an endless array of natural scenery comprising orchards and trees. It also includes ancient artefacts depicting agricultural traditions dating back to several thousands of years.
Bahrain’s Pavilion also aims to spread awareness about the significance of farming heritage of the Kingdom. The Ambassadors of the national pavilion-- Alia Al Moayyed, Khalid Al Muharraqi, Narjis Qamber, Reem Al Mu’alla and Ahmed Talib-- represent various sectors and specialisations, including nutrition, arts, architectural engineering, design and environment.
Bahrain’s pavilion is a poetic interpretation of the cultural agrarian heritage of the country, which stems from the ancient civilizations of Bahrain. With ten distinctive fruit gardens, containing trees that will be fruit–bearing at different moments throughout the six-month duration of the exhibition, the pavilion also features archaeological artefacts.
Italian “Wallpaper” magazine and German “Baunetz” magazine have praised the Bahrain Pavilion’s exceptional design and green gardens.
