F1 traffic plan unveiled

The Director-General of Traffic Colonel Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abduwahab Al Khalifa said that a comprehensive traffic plan for the Bahrain Grand Prix (Formula 1) had been formulated for the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, which will be held from March 28 to 31.  The plan is part of the directives of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to ensure traffic safety on the roads, especially those leading to the F1 venue. 

He said that all procedures to implement the plan had been activated for the protection of all. He highlighted the dedication of the department to work for the success of this international event that has succeeded in placing Bahrain on the map of the world sports.

The Director-General said that the traffic patrols had been equipped with the required devices and tools, while an office to deal with accidents would be allocated at the race site.
