Leadership Congratulates Pakistan on Independence Day

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on the occasion of his country's Independence Day, reaffirming the warm bonds of friendship that have long united the two nations.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also extended his congratulations to President Zardari in a separate cable sent on the same occasion. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister further sent a congratulatory cable to His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, wishing him and the Pakistani people continued prosperity and progress.

Parliamentary Bonds in the Spotlight

The congratulations extended beyond with Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh sending cables to Pakistan's Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, marking the 79th anniversary of Pakistani independence.

Al Saleh conveyed his sincere congratulations and best wishes for the continued health and happiness of both parliamentary leaders, and expressed his hopes that the people of Pakistan would continue to enjoy security, stability and further national progress.

The Shura Council Chairman took the occasion to reflect on the depth of Bahrain-Pakistan relations, expressing pride in the close ties between the two countries and highlighting the growing cooperation and coordination across a wide range of vital fields in a manner that serves their shared interests.

Al Saleh reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to strengthening legislative cooperation with Pakistan's Senate and National Assembly, including the exchange of parliamentary expertise and the coordination of positions on issues debated at regional and international parliamentary forums.
