MP WANTS BLOODY GROUND PROBED
Four people died in three years in this ground
Manama
A parliamentary member yesterday called for a probe on a football ground in the village of Karanna after several persons died here in the past a few years.
DT News reported yesterday a 42-year-old local, Ibrahim Moosa, died in the ground after suffering from a heatstroke. Moosa is the fourth person to die in this spot in the past three years.
MP Ali Al Utaish urged authorities to launch an investigation into the cause behind their deaths.
"In the previous legislative term, I tabled a proposal to construct traditional playing grounds in villages so that citizens can play football without depending on clubs,” he said.
"Because of the limited availabity of grounds, we see many youths playing in this ground, which is charging per hour. And unfortunately, we have already seen enough of blood in this ground. Therefore, I urge the competent authorities to probe this ground to find out the real causes of their deaths,” he added.
