Deal signed for new agricultural facility

Manama : A new headquarters for agricultural affairs will be constructed in Hawrat A’ali, it was announced yesterday. 

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf signed the deal for the project. 

Work on the project, which was awarded to Saraya Contractors, will kick-off in May and conclude in April 2020. Kuwait Fund for Economic Development is funding the project. 

Undersecretary for Works Affairs Ahmed Al-Khayyat, Acting Undersecretary for Construction Projects and Maintenance Raed Al-Salah and other senior officials were present. 

The project, which will be executed on 20,060 square metres of land in Hawrat A’ali, includes 12 farming laboratories, a parking for 33 cars as well as other facilities. 

The labs will be fitted with cutting-edge equipment to provide all types of services to importers, exporters of livestock and plants, examine soil salinity, and ensure the safety of natural and chemical fertilisers and vegetal tissues.
