PR students visit Al Ayam

Students of the University College, Bahrain visited the Al Ayam Media Centre to learn about Journalism from professionals. 

The University College and the Al Ayam Newspaper arranged this visit together to tell the students about the stages a newspaper goes through before it reaches the hands of its readers.

The students were attended by Eman Mohammed (PR Manager of Al Ayam) who showed and explained various technologies and machinery. This introduction to the machinery led them to discover how a piece of paper becomes the periodical publication that tells them about the current events around the globe.

As the small group of University College along with their Lecturer Shemily P. John, paced forth on their curiosity voyage, they were introduced to the numerous parts of the mega-invention that is the printing press.

The students were enlightened on topics such as the collection of information, analysis and justification of facts, processing and editing, evaluation, and setting up the format of the newspaper. 

They were also told about the daily challenges the newspaper agency faces in order to keep the people up-to-date with the latest news.

As they moved forward, they were shown some of the old newspapers of the twentieth century. They studied the various factors that affect news, and the elements of news and of newspaper. 

Towards the end, they were made aware of the importance newspapers and journalism, the fourth pillar of any government around the globe, play in the development and enrichment of a nation and its people. 

The whole visit was made with the purpose of enlightening the young students of the University College, Bahrain on newspapers, while telling them the functions, responsibilities, and troubles faced everyday by a newspaper printing press.
