Draw for 4800 housing units underway

ManamaFollowing the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to distribute 4,800 housing units to beneficiaries across the Kingdom, the Housing Ministry has announced that the electronic draw on the housing units of the Northern City’s islands 13 and 14 is under way, and will continue until the end of next month.

The move is the outcome of the remarkable progress achieved in the implementation of the Northern City regarding construction works and infrastructure related to housing units currently being built by the Ministry, and funded from the state budget and the GCC Development Programme, in addition to the housing projects implemented by the private sector.

The Housing Ministry praised the key role played by the relevant ministries and government departments to expedite the implementation of such projects to ensure that the new housing units are handed over to the beneficiaries as soon as possible.

The Housing Ministry said that “Northern City” is among the largest strategic projects it is currently implementing within the 25,000-unit programme included in the Government Action Plan, stressing that thousands of units have been distributed to eligible citizens this year and last year.

The Housing Ministry added that the new units in the Northern City are surrounded by waterfronts, and enjoy all required facilities, including public beaches, pedestrian crossings, bicycle lanes, bus stops, power stations, sewage treatment plant, as well as major services.
